We've been to Paris, France and Paris, Texas, but now we can add Paris, Tennessee.

We had a wonderful second day at Loretta's place. We got to fully enjoy the warm weather that is apparently all across the U.S. this week. The river water was cool and refreshing.

We explored the ground a bit more and found the Loretta Lynn plantation..

There we found some fine southern fare, but were too early and the store wasn't open.

Barbara had her chance for a horseback ride, but declined.

I'm not sure this could put out any fires, but it sure looked cool

Then we meet this gentle red piebald horse. Wurstchen is a red piebald dachshund so they bonded right away.

Wurstchen saw the horse eating grass and decided that's what piebalds do.

We also stopped at Davy Crockett's last log home in Rutherford, Tennessee. This is where he famously said to Congress "You can go to hell, I'm going to Texas". Spoiler alert, he and his band of Tennessee Volunteers didn't make it back.

Barbara is telling Wurstchen about the 105 bears Davy Crockett is claimed to have "kilt" in one winter when he was living in Tennessee.

Tomorrow, we will tour the land between the lakes and then head over to Festus, Missouri.
